a Joyous occassion

I had such a wonderful blessing today. I was at work and I was ringing up a customer and noticed she was purchasing 2 Joyce Meyer books. I commented that Joyce was going to be signing in our Rancho Cucamonga store. She got so happy and then we began discussing Joyce. The lady said that she was buying Battlefield of the Mind because she had given her copy away yo a friend. She went on to say that one time when she was reading Battlefield, the Holy Spirit came over her. We both laughed and she said she was getting the chills just talking about it. Then she went off on her way!

Psalms 119 tidbit

Also, check out Wikipedia or Google Psalms 119. Did you know that Psalms 119 is an acrostic for the Hebrew Alphabet. BTW- this ordering of the acrostic/alphabet works only with the Hebrew language.

Mighty -Part II

Since my last post,I am happy to say that I completed my reading of Psalms.I will definitely have to go back and read Psalms again. There is much to digest and so many gems. I would like to focus on somethings I found very noteworthy and personal. I just hope that I will be able to articulate my thoughts properly. First of all, I was very proud of myself for finishing Psalms. I must admit it did take a few months but I did it!

Shortly before I began reading Psalms, my Aunt Kathleen(I believe) sent this email with a little prayer and a slide show. This was during the time my Father was recovering from his stroke. I just love reading tidbits such as these {I'll try to attached the slide show} about the Bible. Basically,the message pointed out that the shortest chapter in the entire Bible is Psalms 117 and the longest chapter in the entire Bible is Psalms 119. So what chapter is the exact middle of all the Bible? Psalms 118. Wow, amazing.

When I was reading Psalms I took a "break" as I sometimes do with my reading. I might not read for days, weeks, or even months. However, I clearly remember telling myself,"... reading the Bible is a long journey, Stacey. Take your time and prepare yourself for this wonderful wealth of knowledge." I see reading the Bible as a journey, like a very long walk to a wonderful place that is many miles away. I clearly remember I was taking a break from reading because I was going into the 2nd part of my journey, my life journey. It was a clear moment when I was meditating on that thought of continuing onward with life,with reading, with my walk with Christ. It was like stopping at a rest stop on a highway and you just need that rest before you drive onto your trip. Or when your jogging and you need a rest before you finish that run back home. It was a time to savour and visualize the quest. I was at Psalms 117then after a few weeks I began reading again. When I read Psalms 118:19-21 I got the chills. It was as if my thoughts were manifested into this verse:

"Open me to the gates of righteousness; I shall enter through them, I shall give thanks to the Lord.
This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous will enter through it.
I shall give thanks to Thee, for Thou hast answered me; And Thou hast become my salvation."

What caught me was I felt that I was (metaphorically) going through the "gates" of my walk with Christ. You know when you walk through a gate you're entering into a new place or anew land. It was just a powerful moment. Then I went back and found this email that Aunt Kathleen had sent and it blew my mind.

Well, I'll have to write more on my love of Psalms on another day. It is so rich!
