Praise the Lord! I haven't been on here for a while! I've had many things twirling around in my head for the past few months and have not put them down. So I will try (again) to make efforts to share some thoughts, prayers, and daily reflections. Since February 22 is the beginning of Lenten Season, it gives me a great opportunity to collect my thoughts and write about them.
Starting tomorrow, many Christians will begin their 40 day period of preparing for Easter Sunday. During this 40 day period, beginning with Ash Wednesday and ending with Easter Saturday, many of the faithful will be focused on prayer, repentance, fasting, abstinence, and alms giving/charity works. The 40 day period is in remembrance for the 40 days that Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness (Matt. 4:1-11), (Luke 4:1-13), (Mark 1:12-13). This also reminds us of the 40 days/ years of Moses and the Israelites in their wilderness from Exodus (16:35, 24:18, 34:28).
